Built in Australia, for Australian and New Zealand funeral homes
We believe funeral directors should spend their time caring for families, not fighting with software. That single idea is why FuneralBuddy exists.
Why we built FuneralBuddy
The Australian and New Zealand funeral industry has requirements that generic overseas software simply can't address. State-by-state BDM regulations, Fair Trading compliance, coronial workflows, and the expectations of modern Australian families all call for purpose-built tools — not a North American product with a currency conversion bolted on.
CTV Software Pty Ltd was founded with a clear mission: build the software that ANZ funeral directors actually need. We spent time inside funeral homes, sat in on arrangement meetings, and listened to directors who were drowning in paperwork and juggling four or five disconnected systems. FuneralBuddy is the result — a platform designed from the ground up around how Australian and New Zealand funeral homes really work, from the first call through to aftercare.
What we kept hearing was the same story in different accents: a first call scribbled on a notepad, details re-typed into a spreadsheet, a Word template for the order of service, paper BDM forms filled out by hand, and a separate program again for the invoice. Five systems, none of them talking to each other, and a director staying back after hours to keep them in sync. So we built one calm platform that carries a case through all four phases — first call, arrange, prepare, and care — with the compliance work happening quietly in the background.
And we're not a distant overseas vendor. We're based in Queensland, our support team works in your timezone, and we understand the regulatory landscape you operate in — because it's ours too. When you call, you reach someone who knows what a coronial case is and why Thursday's service can't wait for a ticket queue.
Made for the way ANZ funeral homes actually work
Generic CRMs and imported funeral software leave the hard local parts to you. We made the local parts the whole point.
ANZ compliance first
Jurisdiction-specific BDM forms and workflows for QLD, NSW, and WA are built into every case, alongside cremation paperwork and pricing-disclosure requirements. When regulations change, FuneralBuddy updates — so you stay compliant without extra effort.
Local support, your timezone
Our Australian-based team knows the funeral industry and the rules you work under. No overseas call centres, no waiting for another hemisphere to wake up — just responsive help from people who get it.
Continuous innovation
FuneralBuddy isn't a static product. AI tools for obituaries and run sheets, the Family Portal for modern collaboration, and regular updates driven by customer feedback mean the platform grows with your business.
What we hold ourselves to
Funeral work is careful, human work. Software that supports it should be held to the same standard.
Families come first
Every feature is judged by one question: does it free up time and attention for the family in front of you? If it doesn't, it doesn't ship.
Calm, plain software
No jargon, no clutter, no features for the sake of a brochure. FuneralBuddy is deliberately simple, because your team uses it on the hardest days.
Honest, simple terms
A 14-day free trial with no credit card, transparent pricing with no hidden fees, and no lock-in contracts. If we're not earning your business every month, you're free to leave.
Built with directors, not just for them
Our roadmap comes from arrangement rooms and mortuaries, not boardrooms. The kind words in our reviews are the product of listening first and building second.
Your data stays on Australian soil
Funeral records are among the most sensitive data a business can hold. We treat them that way — with Australian data residency as a founding commitment, not an optional extra.
- Australian data residency — every case file, document, and family record is hosted in Australian data centres.
- Encryption throughout — your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with secure private links for the Family Portal.
- A complete audit trail — every case closes with a full record of who did what and when, ready for any review.
- Your data, always yours — no lock-in contracts means your records are never held hostage. Export anytime.
